Real Madrid's director general Jorge Valdano has reiterated that Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has no first-team future at the Bernabeu.
The 25-year-old has seen a move to German outfit VfB Stuttgart fall through, with Tottenham Hotspur the only other club to have shown an interest in the former Ajax hotshot.
Valdano confirmed: "There is no firm offer. We had a great opportunity, but the player decided to let it pass.
"There is a long way to go until the end of August and we hope to find another European club that is interested.
"He will occupy a secondary role in the squad because he has not had the same preparation as his team-mates and he already knows what the club's intentions are."
Huntelaar only joined Real in January and scored eight goals in 20 appearances for the Spanish giants last season.
