Town arrange Spurs XI meeting

Ipswich have arranged a pre-season friendly against a Tottenham XI at Portman Road just four days before the start of the new season. Coach Tim Sherwood will manage a Spurs side who could well include some of the 10 professionals they have on their books currently on World Cup duty, with the international players expected to be at different stages in their pre-season fitness work. Mexico forward Giovani dos Santos may be one of those in line to make a return to Suffolk having spent the end of the 2008/09 season on loan at Ipswich. The August 3 friendly kicks off at 7.45pm, with Town starting their Championship campaign at Middlesbrough on August 7.
