Tottenham will keep Roman Pavlyuchenko and sell Darren Bent in summer says agent

Redknapp is expected to do major surgery to a squad who have spent the entire season in the bottom half of the Premier League, despite huge investment both at the start of the campaign and during the January window. Pavlyuchenko has yet to truly settle in English football, despite reaching double figures for goals this season and speculation surfaced Redknapp was ready to offload him. However, Victor Kolar, Pavlyuchenko's representative, believes such suggestions are wide of the mark. 'As far as I can judge, Spurs may sell only one of their forwards and it's Bent,' he said. 'Roman is not in the situation to be thinking about moving clubs — he is close to completing his adaptation to England. He has a house in London. 'Both he and his wife like living there. And his manager says he wants him in the team next season.' Meanwhile, Jermain Defoe, the Tottenham striker who returned to the club from Portsmouth in January, but who was injured after just four full games in a Spurs shirt, is back in training and close to a first-team return. Defoe had pencilled in his return for Sunday, at home against Newcastle, and though that seems an over-optimistic target, the striker is not far away, with a trip to Manchester United the following week now more likely. 'He's back and that's a big bonus for us,' added Redknapp. 'I'm sure there are a few goals left in him before the end of the season.'
