Tottenham v West Brom - Live!

90+4 There goes the final whistle and West Brom fail to get the point they probably deserved, a free header from Martis in the second half could have changed things at White Hart Lane, but as it stands, West Brom are almost certainly going down now while Tottenham have another three points on the board 90+3 The ball almost falls right on Carson's head but Martis leaps higher to win the header but his effort is well wide 90+2 Koren wins a corner off Corluka, last chance for the Baggies as Brunt stands over it, Carson comes up for it 90+1 Jenas forces Carson into a save as he cuts inside onto his right and curls an effort on target, Carson is equal to it and Spurs have a corner 90 Lennon hits the post as he almost seals the win, Carson was beaten at the near post 89 Modric cuts inside onto his right foot before firing a shot high and wide 87 West Brom fans around the stadium look gloomy to say the least, they might yet nick a point here but they know wins for Sunderland and Hull this weekend will all but send them down if they don't win here 86 Modric tries to find Keane with a lofted through ball but it's over hit and Carson is off his line to clear 85 Modric fouls Mensequez out wide and West Brom have a good crossing opportunity from the right flank. Let me know what way you think it's going to go by e-mailing me at jamie.casey@bskyb.com 45+2 Spurs nicely keeping posession now as they look to see out the half 45+1 Well they fooled everyone there as Jenas rolls the ball towards Palacios to shoot, his deflected effort wins a corner 45 Spurs have a freekick in a dangerous area, Jenas is standing over it as he looks for a quickfire double 44 What a sickener for West Brom after so nearly taking the lead a minute before that strike, but Spurs are worthy of their slender lead as we approach half time 43 GOAL JENAS! Jenas finds himself just outside the D on the edge of the box, sidesteps and curls a great effort into the bottom corner, great finish 42 Good response from West Brom that chance, they were under alot of pressure 41 Fortune goes close at the other end as he volleys a Zuiverloon cross over the crossbar, again - well struck but he did have other options 40 Lennon has another effort on goal, this time from around 25 yards, firmly struck but Carson palms away to safety 39 Lennon goes close but his deflected shot goes wide for a Spurs corner 38 Lennon puts in a low cross which is somehow miskicked by two Spurs attackers, Jenas then Keane before Pavlyuchenko's effort is blocked 37 Valero almost finds Fortune with a through ball but Woodgate comfortably deals with the threat and Spurs come away with posession 36 Koren's through ball is too strong for Valero and Gomes reads the pass well 34 A good run by Zuiverloon is halted by Palacios which ignites a counter attack ending in Pavlyuchenko shooting wide on the turn with his left foot, he's getting more into the game now the Russian 33 Wonderful ball from Modric puts Pavlyuchenko through on goal at a difficult angle and he stabs his effort high and wide, should really have made the 'keeper work there 32 Fortune goes down in the box with optimistic claims for a penalty from the away fans, not too much in that im afraid 30 Fortune takes on Corluka inside the area but runs the ball out of play in the process, Spurs goal kick 29 Modric is too casual and Mulumbu disposesses him and tries to find Koren in the box but his cross is overhit and Gomes collects 28 Koren ruins some nice crossfield play by West Brom by lashing his cross well wide bringing a sarcastic cheer from the home crowd 27 Palacios races onto a Corluka through ball but he can't keep his cross in play, goal kick to West Brom 26 Greening is down receiving treatment after that chance still 24 What a chance for Spurs. Carson spills a tame Jenas effort and the ball breaks to Lennon whose left foot effort sails wide of goal, he should've done better with that really 23 Gomes comes off his line a punches clear this time, so far so good for Spurs' suspect goalkeeper 22 Brilliant save from Gomes, Olsson gets his head to a Greening corner but the big keeper is equal to it, another corner to the away side 21 Pavlyuchenko clears the resulting danger as Spurs look to break, good end to end game so far 20 Corluka deflects the ball out for a Baggies corner 19 King and Fortune are having a good battle so far up front with the former England international currently on top as he deals with a long ball from Carson 18 Brunt cuts inside onto his left foot from the right wing and unleashes a shot on goal but King blocks his effort 17 Keane loses posession as West Brom look to break but Corluka brilliantly wins back posession 16 Woodgate is penalised just inside his own half, Greening lofts the ball into the penalty area but Zuiverloon's header across the face of goal is well read by Gomes 14 West Brom are finding their feet a little now as they're beginning to see more of the ball making good use of the space on the left wing 13 Brunt wins a throw in for the away side deep in Tottenham territory 12 Modric again puts in a poor delivery from the corner and West Brom get away with it 11 Lack of communication at the back there as Greening prods the ball wide when Carson had it covered, Spurs have another corner 10 King plays his way out of trouble by calmly stroking the ball back to Gomes in the Tottenham goal under pressure from the Baggies attack 9 Modric takes on Martis inside the area but the defender stands up well and puts the ball behind for a corner, which is wasted by Modric 8 Valero is caught offside from Brunt's through ball 7 Patrick O'Neill think Spurs will win 5-0 today claiming "someone is due a hammering," confident words there but they've gone closest so far 6 Pavlyuchenko hits the freekick hard an low through the wall but his effort misses the target by 2 or 3 yards, not troubling Carson that one 5 Modric is brought down on the edge of the box in a great position for Spurs 4 So a sniff at either end in these early stages, lively start at the lane 3 Valero is beaten to the ball by Woodgate at the near post from Koren's cut back, good chance for Baggies early on 2 Modric gets the first cross of the match into the area but it's easily cleared by Robinson 1 We're under way at White Hart Lane and the pitch looks in great condition, hopefully we'll see a smooth game of football here Chris Penn, a dedicated Baggies in Ireland, is hoping his side can come away with a 2-1 win this afternoon, but realistically admits a draw would be a good result Josh Coull, another Spurs fan, is glad to see the club finally forming a settled team and wonders if Redknapp will pair Defoe and Keane together as first choice when they're both fully fit Tony McNab, a Spurs fan from Blewbury, thinks Redknapp has made a wise move picking Pavlyuchenko as the Russian is sharper at the minute, but he expects to see Defoe in the second half So Defoe is left on the bench as Pavlyuchenko is preffered in attack.
