Tottenham Step Up, Arsenal Stumble and Chelsea Trip

With only the Swansea v Hull City match left to finish off week 15 of the Premier League, teams like Tottenham, Newcastle and Crystal Palace are celebrating wins while others like Manchester United, Chelsea and bottom of the table, Sunderland are left to wonder what happened.

Spurs have been slowly moving back up the table over the last few weeks after hitting a season low of ninth after the complete thrashing that Manchester City gave them back in week 12. Spurs were able to bounce back a week later, at home, by holding Manchester United to a 2-2 draw. Over the last two weeks, Spurs have continued a good run of form by knocking off both Fulham and Sunderland which both currently sit in the relegation zone. There are several teams that will be vying for the forth Champions league spot and Tottenham are well placed as we move closer to the halfway point in the season.

December will be a telling month for an Arsenal team that many still believe does not have the makings of a Championship side. Arsenal had a chance to move out to a seven point lead over Chelsea and Liverpool but Everton had their own agenda. Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil scored in the 80th minute to put the Gunners on top but on loan wonder kid, Gerard Deulofeu's, late strike earned Everton a much deserved draw. Everton are currently sitting in the Europa League qualifying spot and are only two points off the second spot currently held by Liverpool and Chelsea.

Chelsea, after their loss to Stoke City are “in trouble” according to “the Special One”. Jose Mourinho was at a loss for words after the match on Saturday and was truly upset at his team’s performance. Chelsea has all the fire power that any team could want but right now they are giving up to many goals. Chelsea have conceded seven goals over the last three matches and had a chance to move within one point of Arsenal if they could have beaten Stoke.

There are some great matches coming up this week with Arsenal facing Man City, Tottenham taking on Liverpool and Chelsea facing an improving Crystal Palace team under new manager Tony Pulis. We will also see if Manchester United can end there run of winless matches and put one over on mid-table partner, Aston Villa and relieve some to the pressure on new manager David Moyes.
