Tottenham Hotspur want 100million for star man Gareth Bale
Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy is demanding a world-record fee for the high-flying Welshman, in an attempt to scare off those interested.
Bayern Munich, PSG, Real Madrid and now Manchester City are all determined to capture the services of the 22-goal Welsh wizard.
His price tag seems outrageous but his loyalty seems to lie at White Heart Lane. Failure to land a Champions League position could force him to change his mind.
During an interview with French TV show Telefoot last month, the 23-year-old was dropping hints about his future. He expressed his desire to develop as a player whilst ruling out a move to PSG.
He said: “PSG is a great team. They brought in great players last summer, even in January. This is a club to follow in the future, a bit like Manchester City.
But they are still not on the same level of great clubs. Not like Bayern, Real or Barcelona.”
Bale is back in the squad for Spurs today against Manchester City after suffering an ankle injury against Basel 2 weeks ago.
That would leave their top-four hopes looking perilous, increasing the likelihood of Bale quitting.
Many would agree with the fact that Bale cannot progress as a player if he sticks with Spurs. He needs to take the opportunity at the next level and hopefully find his superstar status.
One more year with the Londoners seems fair and a push to win the title next season is definitely the plan as Bale is sure to be setting his sights on bigger and better things.
