Tottenham secured their place in the group stages of the Europa League after a goalless draw against a much-improved Hearts side at White Hart Lane.
Spurs, who won last week's first leg 5-0 in Edinburgh, had a chance to open the scoring on the night when they won a penalty in the first half, but debutant Harry Kane had his spot-kick saved by Jamie MacDonald.
Aside from another first half effort, this time from Roman Pavlyuchenko, Harry Redknapp's inexperienced side never looked like scoring and Hearts were unlucky not to win the game, with Gordon Smith coming closest to breaking the deadlock with a 12th-minute effort that hit the bar.
Spurs dominated possession without really threatening the goal until the 10th minute when Pavlyuchenko drew a brilliant save from MacDonald with a sweetly struck half-volley from the edge of the box.
Soon after Hearts shocked the home side when Gordon shrugged off Michael Dawson inside the Tottenham box and fired a bullet of a volley which smacked the crossbar but rebounded out to safety.
Tom Huddlestone blasted a 30-yard drive way over the bar after 27 minutes and Spurs earned a penalty shortly after when Kane got on the end of Thomas Carroll's throughball before being brought down by the on-rushing MacDonald. Kane chose to take the spot-kick himself but he was denied a debut goal when MacDonald dove to his right to save.
David Templeton struck a sweet curling shot that sailed just wide after the break as Hearts looked to make the breakthrough.
MacDonald was almost caught out by Kane in the 73rd minute when he struggled to get the ball out from under his feet in the box, but the stopper cleared before the youngster could steal the ball.
Pavlyuchenko screwed another shot horribly over the bar before being caught offside, much to the dismay of the home crowd, who were growing increasingly frustrated with the Russian's poor showing.
Andros Townsend went down in the Hearts box with four minutes left after being brushed by Ryan McGowan but the referee told the winger to get to his feet.
