Spurs winger Aaron Lennon returns to training

Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon has returned to training after three months on the sidelines with a groin injury. England international Lennon was put through his paces on Tuesday and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp welcomed the 22-year-old back. On the mend: Lennon takes part in Tuesday's open training at White Hart Lane 'It was great to see him out training but we've got to take our time,it's important he doesn't break down and have another setback,'Redknapp told ESPN. 'We'll see how he goes this week, the physios will monitor his progressand they will let us know when he's ready to come back and startplaying again. He's getting closer and that's good news.' Redknapp is also confident Lennon, who has not featured since limping off against West Ham just after Christmas, will be back at his best in time for the World Cup. Bad timing: Lennon was in fine form before his injury He added: 'Aaron has been working on his fitness and should be OK. If [England boss] Fabio Capello rings and asks me about Aaron, I'll say he should be in good shape for the summer. 'That is great news for England, especially after the loss of David Beckham. Aaron can become a major player for England in the World Cup finals. But before that we need him for our run-in.'  Tottenham join the race to sign £2m Notts County keeper SchmeichelBarcelona and Real Madrid join race to sign Tottenham target AsenjoSpurs look to hijack Liverpool's bid for Rangers teen sensation WilsonTottenham will avenge Sunderland defeat against Pompey, claims CrouchGomes thanks bruising England for turning him into World Cup hopefulTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC
