Spurs spanked by red-hot Rossi's treble

Champions League hopefuls Tottenham suffered a 4-1 defeat in their pre-season friendly at home to Spanish side Villarreal on Thursday. Harry Redknapp's side were caught cold early on at White Hart Lane as former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi scored two first-half goals. The Spurs boss rang the changes at half-time and saw Giovanni Dos Santos pull a goal back for his side. However, a deflected Rossi strike and Marco Ruben's late goal secured a resounding win for the Yellow Submarine.
