Spurs reach Ramos agreement

Tottenham have finally agreed a compensation package with Sevilla for former manager Juande Ramos.

The Spaniard's appointment as manager at White Hart Lane in October 2007 annoyed Sevilla and they accused the Premier League club of making an illegal approach for their coach, who was under contract at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan until the end of the 2007-08 season.

Ramos was sacked by Tottenham in October 2008 and spent the second half of last season in charge of Real Madrid.

A short statement from the Spanish club read: "Sevilla and Tottenham reached an economic agreement on Monday to resolve their legal dispute which arose as a consequence of the departure of Juande Ramos from Sevilla, in October 2007, to coach the English team.

"The club are happy with the agreement."

Meanwhile, Spurs target Maxi Rodriguez insists he has no plans to leave Atletico Madrid.

The 28-year-old Argentina international said: "I am very, very happy here. When I arrive for pre-season I will do what the club wants me to.

"I do not care about the rumours regarding my possible exit. I am confident in my position and I am going to play."
