Spurs loan out Ziegler

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to send Reto Ziegler on loan to Italian side Sampdoria until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old Switzerland international has made just one Premiership appearance this season and has been allowed to leave White Hart Lane by Spurs boss Martin Jol in a bid to play regular first team football.

Zeigler arrived at Tottenham in 2004 from Grasshoppers and made 31 appearances in his first season in the Premiership.

Last year the left-sided midfielder was loaned out to Hamburg in Germany and Wigan Athletic, where he made a substitute appearance against Manchester United in the Carling Cup final.

Sampdoria are currently 10th in the Serie A table.
