Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing unsettled Nantes midfielder Christian Wilhelmsson.
The Sweden international ended last season on loan at AS Roma and is keen to remain in Italy.
But the Giallorossi have yet to decide whether to exercise a £2million option in Wilhelmsson's loan contract to make the move into a permanent transfer, which has alerted Spurs to his availability.
The 27-year-old featured in every one of Sweden's World Cup games last summer and is also believed to be interesting Middlesbrough.
"There could be an extension to the loan deal, but there have been several clubs who have shown a real interest," agent Mino Raiola was quoted as saying.
"One of those clubs is Tottenham. Roma want to keep the player, but the final decision can only be taken by Nantes."
