Spurs bring back Kaboul
31 Jan 2010 - 10:42:08
Younes Kaboul has completed his return to Tottenham Hotspur just 18 months after leaving White Hart Lane to join Portsmouth.
The 24-year-old French defender scored five goals in 50 matches for Pompey after finding the net four times in 29 appearances during his first spell in north London.
Meanwhile, boss Harry Redknapp thought his side threw away a valuable three points at Birmingham City.
Jermain Defoe's second-half goal appeared to have done enough to help Spurs clinch victory only for Liam Ridgewell to bundle home a stoppage-time equaliser for Alex McLeish's side.
"I felt we had control throughout," said Redknapp. "We got one up and we just had to continue playing the way we were.
"It didn't last though and in stoppage time we lost concentration and it cost us. We didn't react and it was poor defending.
"I always felt we had control of the game and were the better team. I thought it was a terrific away performance today, so I didn't really see us in any danger.
"Up until the end we'd been top-class, but that's how it goes. I couldn't complain about the effort and the way we played today.
"I thought we passed the ball well on a difficult pitch and were always in control. It was definitely two points dropped."
