Slow recovery for Lennon
10 Aug 2007 - 07:56:14
Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon will be out of action for around another month as he battles back from summer surgery on a knee injury.
The 20-year-old right-winger underwent his operation two months ago and is now also a doubt for England's Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel and Russia in early September.
Spurs head coach, Martin Jol, confirmed: "He will be back in training in three weeks, at the end of the month.
"He has had no reaction and is doing conditioning work with the coaches.
"He had an operation on the outside cartilage of his knee, which is three months. He's been out for eight weeks so far."
Meanwhile, Spurs have confirmed that Brazilian defender Rodrigo Defendi has left White Hart Lane to join Italian club Avellino.
The 21-year-old failed to make a first-team appearance in England and has previously been loaned out to Udinese and AS Roma.
