Scott Parker has not given up on his England career

Tottenham ace Scott Parker insists he has not given up of playing for England again, despite being left out of the squad to face Brazil.

Parker has missed most of the season through injury, but has recently returned to full fitness and is now back in the Spurs starting line-up. However, despite feature in recent weeks for Andre Villas-Boas's side - he was left out by Roy Hodgson for the friendly with Brazil on Wednesday.

"I am proud to represent my country, but I say the same thing every time, it is going to be difficult because in this country we have an abundance of midfield players.

"They are very good players, but I always say to myself, work hard, keep my form, play as well as I can and the rest will take care of itself.

"I just love to be involved with England."
