Roman set for Spurs future
01 May 2009 - 11:57:30
The agent of Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has held talks with manager Harry Redknapp to clarify his client's future at White Hart Lane.
The 27-year-old Russia international has scored 14 goals in 32 appearances for Spurs since his arrival from Spartak Moscow, but had been linked with a move at the end of the season.
However, Pavlyuchenko's representative, Oleg Artemov, told Sport Express: "The conversations were quite detailed and, importantly, very useful.
"After our meeting, Harry Redknapp, I think, now understands better a few details concerning Roman.
"It seems to me that next year Pavlyuchenko has every chance to play for Tottenham."
Redknapp had recently stated: "He's done okay to be fair. He scored some decent goals at home, but I feel he's capable of more because he's an excellent player.
"There's more adjusting to do, but technically he's a top-class player. Sometimes he gets brushed off the ball too easily and he has to work harder for the team."
