Redknapp stunned by start

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp admitted Saturday's 2-1 victory over Liverpool had capped an "amazing week" in his new job.

Spurs followed up their last-gasp 4-4 midweek draw with north London rivals Arsenal by coming from behind to inflict a first defeat of the season on Liverpool.

Redknapp's first game last weekend also ended in success with a 2-0 win over fellow strugglers Bolton Wanderers.

Substitute Roman Pavlyuchenko's 90th minute winner against the Reds moved Spurs off the foot of the table and left Redknapp pinching himself after a thrilling first week in the White Hart Lane hot-seat.

"It's never a dull moment in my life, that seems to be the way it is," he said.

"This week has been more of the same - it's been an amazing week.

"It was a difficult game against such a good side. They're hard to play against, closing the space down.

"In the second half we rode our luck. We kept going and when that happens you get your rewards.

"I said to the players at half-time that we had that ability to score. When Liverpool are in front it's very hard to get anything out of them.

"So I tried to put some belief into the lads and told them to keep going."
