Redknapp rules out Gunners
15 Dec 2008 - 09:05:02
Arsenal have no chance of winning this season's Premier League title, according to Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp.
The Gunners are fifth in the table following Saturday's 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough, eight points behind current leaders Liverpool.
Redknapp also believes Liverpool will not stay the pace, saying: "One of Manchester United or Chelsea will win the title.
"That's not being too clever though is it, because there's only Liverpool up there as well with them? Arsenal aren't going to win it this year. I can't see them coming back into it and winning the championship.
"I think Liverpool rely so heavily on (Steven) Gerrard and (Fernando) Torres.
"If something happened to Gerrard, I don't know what they'd do, really. So I still see them being short of Chelsea and Manchester United."
Meanwhile, Redknapp has confirmed he plans to strengthen his squad next month, adding: "I know exactly who I want at this club.
"I've got a list of players, and it's not like four for one position. I know exactly what I want the team to be here."
