Redknapp hails Assou-Ekotto

Harry Redknapp has praised the 'outstanding' form of Tottenham left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto this season. The 25-year-old initially struggled to establish himself as a regular in the Spurs side after moving to White Hart Lane from Lens in 2006. The likes of Lee Young-pyo, Gareth Bale and Gilberto have all had opportunities to make the position their own but Assou-Ekotto has now pushed himself to the front of the pecking order. He has been one of the club's most consistent performers since Redknapp took charge in October and the manager has been delighted with his progress. "He has done very well," said Redknapp, who has been linked with a move for Porto full-back Aly Cissokho. "I think he has been injured before but I have been very impressed with him this season as he has been in great form. He has looked an outstanding left-back." Away formSpurs have been in excellent form at home in recent months but they remain inconsistent on the road and will need to improve if they are to secure European qualification. Two of their remaining three games are away, starting with a trip to Goodison Park to face Everton this weekend, and assistant boss Kevin Bond accepts that results away from White Hart Lane are a concern. "We look at everything and that's something we need to address," admitted Bond. "We're looking at how we can improve that away form and be more resolute. "It's always going to be more difficult on another team's patch but we've bossed games away from home. We did well at Manchester United but one decision went against us and we shouldn't really have capitulated like we did. "Go back to Blackburn as well, we dominated there before losing 2-1. If something goes against us or we concede a goal then we have to be more resilient. We're looking at everything and seeing where we can improve. "We've done well at home and if we can get near to that form away from home we'll be a team to be reckoned with."
