Redknapp blasts 'flawed' system
Published : 09 Apr 2009 15:56:07
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is unhappy to not have Wilson Palacios available to face West Ham at White Hart Lane this weekend. The January capture from Wigan is suspended for Spurs' game as Redknapp cannot appeal against the two bookings he collected in last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Blackburn. Redknapp believes referee Peter Walton was wrong to show the Honduras international a second yellow card for his mistimed attempt to win the ball from David Dunn. Spurs' boss believes Walton made the wrong decision and that he should be able to at least lodge an appeal in order to secure what he thinks is justice. Flawed "It's a flawed system that you cannot appeal against a yellow card and get it rescinded if it was blatantly wrong," Redknapp said. "The same thing happened last weekend to Glen Johnson at Portsmouth. "It's crazy really, they surely could look at that and say it was a wrong decision. He hasn't made contact with the player so it shouldn't count." On the injury front Redknapp is hoping to have Ledley King (knee) and Aaron Lennon (groin) available to face the Hammers, although the game should come too soon for Alan Hutton. "Ledley won't train until Friday. Aaron Lennon's had a little bit of a groin strain that he's had for quite a few weeks. He didn't train this morning, but he should be fine for tomorrow. "Other than that we're pretty much okay. Wilson Palacios is suspended. Alan Hutton's having a reserve game tonight, which is good for him. He's come back in good form. He looks sharp."
