Ramos wants shorter window

Tottenham Hotspur boss Juande Ramos has called for a shortening of the transfer window after seeing his side's start to the new season overshadowed by squad unrest.
Spurs finally sold Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United on transfer deadline day, but the unsettled Bulgaria international had already missed the last two games after Ramos claimed he wasn't focused.
The north London club received a fee in excess of £30million for the former Bayer Leverkusen striker, but the Spanish coach believes the situation could have been avoided if the transfer window closed nearer to the beginning of the new campaign.
He said: "The league started on August 16, but the window does not shut until September 1.
"You play three games before it shuts while players are uncertain where they are going to be playing and team-mates are thinking which players will go and who will come in.
"That means they are not fully concentrated on their work.
"I would prefer it that, once the league has started, you don't have a player playing for one team one week and playing for another the next."
