Ramos rues Keane loss
08 Dec 2007 - 12:05:46
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Juande Ramos has challenged his side to overcome the loss of skipper Robbie Keane to a three-match suspension and climb away from relegation danger.
Keane will be absent for Spurs' next three games after his controversial sending-off against Birmingham City, but Ramos is content that he still has enough strike options at his disposal.
He said: "I hope and I believe my other strikers will take on the responsibility now in the absence of Robbie Keane and help the team win games.
"But, in general terms, the team have a lot of room for improvement and there is a lot for us to do.
"At the moment we are closer to relegation than we are to the European places.
"So we're left with no alternative but to fight against this and get as many points as possible.
"And if we're capable of coming out of this situation, we will think about something better. But at this moment this is the reality."
