Ramos impresses Berbatov

Bulgaria international Dimitar Berbatov has reiterated his commitment to Tottenham and praised new boss Juande Ramos.

The 26-year-old striker had been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, with Manchester United his most likely destination.

However, after Berbatov's agent held a meeting with Spurs' sporting director Damien Comolli earlier this month, the player suggested he was happy to stay in north London.

The former Bayer Leverkusen striker has spoken again of his intention to remain with Spurs, and said of Ramos: "My first impression of him is that he's an incredible person.

"As a character, he talks to everybody on the team personally. He is a man who tries hard and he wants to help the team very much. He's the perfect one for the job.

"I think he is a very good manager and a very nice person. He approaches everyone personally and it allows players to understand him much easier. Well, at least that's my first impression.

"I have problems with no-one. All these rumours affected me but I've never wanted to be the centre of the world.

"I'm a Tottenham player and I'll stay at the club, that's for sure."
