Ramos cools Berbatov link

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Juande Ramos has played down talk of Barcelona having made a bid for star striker Dimitar Berbatov.

The 27-year-old Bulgaria international has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane for most of the summer, with Manchester United rumoured to be his most likely destination.

However, recent reports suggested that Barca had entered the race for Berbatov, who has scored 46 goals in two seasons with Spurs.

Ramos told Sport: "Nobody from Barca has asked me about Berbatov, there has been no movement on that front. All I know is what I read in the papers.

"We will have to wait and see what happens. It is a question of waiting a bit more and then we will see how things turn out.

"All I can say about that is that I know nothing about it either. We have a list of forwards and we are working on that, not on what journalists or agents are saying.

"Many things have been said and half of them are just not true. The representatives are doing their job at this stage."
