    Ramos bemoans penalty woe

    26 Nov 2007 - 09:11:31

Tottenham manager Juande Ramos thought a draw was a fair result from his side's visit to West Ham United even though the visitors had the chance to grab a last-minute winner when they were awarded a penalty.

However, Jermain Defoe's stoppage-time spot-kick was saved by Robert Green to leave Spurs 14th in the Premier League table.

The former Sevilla boss admitted after the 1-1 draw: "Jermain is naturally very upset but these things happen in football and we have to accept it and get on with the job.

"We had the possibility to score the second goal, we didn't take it and so we have to be happy with the draw - but we've lost vital points we felt we deserved."

Ramos thought his side should have had an earlier penalty when Robbie Keane appeared to be brought down by Green after lifting the ball over the Hammers shot-stopper.

He added: "The decisions are ones that the referee has to make very quickly.

"I have got my opinion but the referee has to make a decision and we have to accept his ruling.

"My opinion is different to the referee. It would have been a decision which would have changed the game."
