Tottenham's assistant manager Gus Poyet has no interest in becoming Manchester United's new number two.
The Uruguayan had been linked with the Old Trafford vacancy following Carlos Queiroz's decision to become Portugal's manager.
However, Poyet told Spurs' official website: "It's nothing, it was a surprise to read it.
"I want to stay at Spurs, I want to stay with this manager, this group of players and this club because I'm very happy.
"When you are in England and you are lucky enough to be with one of the big teams you are always going to get speculation. It happens, that's football - I've been around long enough to ignore it!"
Meanwhile, Poyet was pleased with Spurs' display in their first pre-season game, an 8-0 win against Spanish side Tavernes.
He said of the rout: "The players had 45 minutes each, we've no injuries and it was a good win - that's good news for everyone.
"It's always tough to score the first goal in these games, the opposition is always very determined, but we showed good movement throughout and eventually it became easier.
"The attitude pleased me the most - the lads took it seriously and that's what we asked for.
"It was about playing football again and fitness, and when you play local teams like this and start scoring goals you can relax, but that wasn't the case. We drove on looking for more."
