Welsh international Bale started his career at Southampton and was named was named the Football League Young Player of the Year in his first full season as a professional footballer. He joined Spurs for a fee of £5m and has impressed greatly since. Gareths 2007-08 season was cut short by a bad injury but his commitment with the club was strengthened when he siged a new four-year deal with the club in August 2008.
