Pavlyuchenko's Roma link cools

Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent has denied that the Russia international is on the verge of leaving Tottenham to join AS Roma.

The 27-year-old endured a difficult 2008-09 season in north London and is expected to leave White Hart Lane at some time this summer.

Roma were rumoured to have lined up Pavlyuchenko as a replacement for Mirko Vucinic who seems certain to leave the Italian capital before the new season starts.

However, the striker's agent, Viktor Kolar, told Forzaroma.info: "I have come to know through the papers that the Giallorossi have apparently made a move for the player, but I don't know anything about it.

"As far as I'm concerned, no one has told me anything. There is nothing concrete, because no offers have come in.

"I have no idea how they can say Roman will join Roma. I have talked to the Tottenham directors and he knows he will be part of a serious project next term.

"He has many years left on his contract and intends to show how much he is worth in England."
