Pav still in Lokomotiv's sights
09 Mar 2010 - 15:51:41
Lokomotiv Moscow remain keen to bring Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko back to Russia at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old came close to joining Lokomotiv in the January transfer window, before Spurs pulled the plug on a possible deal and Pavlyuchenko has responded by scoring six goals in his last five games.
However, president Nikolay Naumov is hopeful of resurrecting a deal, telling the Daily Mail: "We have spoken to Roman about this.
"He still wants to return to Russia and if he does return, he will only come to our team."
Meanwhile, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has again voiced his concern that more foreign owners in the Premier League will lead to more foreign coaches being hired.
He told reporters: "Every club will have a foreign owner soon, the way things are going.
"You get more foreign owners and you'll get more foreign coaches. The lifespan of a manager will get less and less.
"They will all be mega-rich men and they all want to win. They won't understand why they can't win the league. It will be like a revolving door eventually.
"Foreign owners are going to be looking at people they know, people they've heard of and knew to be a great player. A big club will always go for that sexy name."
