Pav future appears bright

Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent has held clear-the-air discussions with Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp. The Russia international has been the centre of much transfer speculation of late, with uncertainty surrounding his future at White Hart Lane. He only joined Spurs from Spartak Moscow last summer, but has endured a difficult first season in England. That had led to talk of a reported move elsewhere at the end of the current campaign, despite the player reiterating his commitment to the Tottenham cause. Talks regarding the distracting situation have now been held between the player's representative and the club, with the outcome suggesting that Pavlyuchenko remains part of Redknapp's long-term plans. "The conversation was quite detailed and, importantly, very useful," Pavlyuchenko's agent Oleg Artemov told Sport Express. Promising"After our meeting Redknapp, I think, now understands better a few details concerning Roman. "It seems to me that next year Pavlyuchenko has every chance to play for Tottenham." Meanwhile, Pavlyuchenko has returned to training after a back injury but is facing a race against time to face West Brom on Saturday. "The training session went as normal," he said. "However, afterwards my back gave me some pain, and I barely slept all night. "Whether I play (against West Brom) will only be decided on the day of the match."
