Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has threatened to leave White Hart Lane following his lack of first-team action.

The Russia striker has found himself frozen out of the first-team picture this season and fears that his lack of action will harm his hopes of appearing in next summer's World Cup Finals.

Pavlyuchenko, who cost Spurs £14million when he joined from Spartak Moscow in September 2008, has not started a single Premier League game this season.

The 27-year-old finds himself behind Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch in manager Harry Redknapp's plans.

"I want to leave the club," said Pavlyuchenko. "It is impossible to remain there under the circumstances I find myself in.

"I have been sitting on the bench for half a year and, as a result, lost a place in the starting 11 of the national team.

"And now hopefully we will get to the World Cup. Who will rely on a forward who does not play? I will ask the management to quote a reasonable price for me.

"The important thing now is to reach a compromise that will be suitable for the club and me, and my future club."
