O'Hara eyes final spot

Published: 27 Feb 2009 - 08:23:50

Tottenham ace Jamie O'Hara hopes he has played his way into Harry Redknapp's plans for this weekend's Carling Cup final. O'Hara made a successful return to action in Tottenham's Uefa Cup draw with Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday night. The versatile performer has missed the last few weeks with a hip problem, but Redknapp has admitted O'Hara has given him a selection headache ahead of the meeting with Manchester United on Sunday. O'Hara, who missed out on last season's win over Chelsea, admits it would be a 'dream' for him to start Sunday's showpiece at Wembley. "It will be a dream for me," O'Hara told Sky Sports News. "I have missed out a few times for England Under 21s and Tottenham last year so it will be a great feeling for me to go out there and hopefully I will get the shirt." Heurelho Gomes, who came through the Shakhtar game unscathed, is looking forward to his first experience of playing at Wembley. "For everyone I think it is a great day," said Gomes. "My first time at Wembley and I am very happy to play there."
