No comeback date for Lennon
13 Mar 2010 - 11:54:03
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp accepts that he does not know when Aaron Lennon will be able to play again.
A groin problem has sidelined Lennon since December and Redknapp has revealed that he is still not sure what the problem is.
Lennon has not been able to resume running after a number of setbacks and there is still no date set for his return, leaving a question mark as to whether he will be able to represent England at this summer's World Cup finals in South Africa.
Redknapp, who confirmed on Friday that Jonathan Woodgate's season was over, was quoted in The Sun as saying: "I couldn't sit here and say for sure if he'll play again this season. There's absolutely no comeback date at all."
Meanwhile, Redknapp believes that if his side can garner 19 more points this season they will be playing in next season's Champions League.
He added: "You're going to have to be aiming for 19 points to have a chance of finishing fourth. We're going to have win six games I think and get a draw somewhere out of some very tough games.
"We've got Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal and are away to Stoke and Sunderland. They're very tough games. It's a big ask and we've got a really tough run-in."
