Modric reveals Harry secret

Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Luka Modric believes the secret of Harry Redknapp's instant success at White Hart Lane has been his sound man-management.

Spurs are unbeaten in five games in all competitions since Redknapp replaced Juande Ramos in the hot-seat last month.

Last weekend's 2-1 win over Manchester City moved the north London club off the foot of the table and left Redknapp basking in the glory of a better-than-expected start to life with a previously out-of-sorts side.

"Harry likes to speak with every single player. He gives them confidence to go out and play good football," revealed Modric.

"He always tells us that we are good players and it makes it easier when you have that confidence."

Meanwhile, the Croatia star claims he is beginning to acclimatise to life in the Premier League following his £12million summer arrival from Dinamo Zagreb.

"Personally I'm getting used to the game here all the time and I hope I can keep getting better," he added.

"I like to play offensive midfield and like to be on the ball or near the ball all the time so I can be involved.

"That's the position I like to play and it's important to me. I feel like I can do my best in that position."
