Mark van Bommel: I love Tottenham and want to play for them one day

Mark van Bommel admits he is open to a summer switch to Tottenham after failing to secure a move to White Hart Lane in the January transfer window. The veteran Holland midfielder, 33, signed for AC Milan until the end of the season from Bayern Munich last month despite strong interest from Spurs boss Harry Redknapp. Redknapp was disappointed to miss out on the combative Dutchman's services but Van Bommel has not ruled out joining the Barclays Premier League club in June when his six-month deal at the San Siro expires. London calling: Mark van Bommel admits he would to play for Tottenham one day Van Bommel, who was sent off on his Serie A debut for Milan against Catania, insists he would love to play for Spurs in the future following good feedback from compatriot Rafael van der Vaart, saying they are his favourite club in England. 'We had some contact with Spurs but unfortunately it didn't work out in the end,' he said. 'It's one of my favourite clubs in England, I really love the stadium and I know the training ground because I've been there with the Dutch national team. Double Dutch: Van Bommel says he has had positive feedback over Tottenham from White Hart Lane star and compatriot Rafael van der Vaart 'Rafael [van der Vaart] has told me a lot of good stories. I'd love to play for Spurs. I've told Rafael that as well. 'I don't know how things will go and that's all I'd like to say at the moment. I'm pleased with what Harry Redknapp's said about me - that's always positive. 'It's not good to look back. You've got to look to the future.
