Malaga chief confirms Spaniards are close to signing Spurs flop Taarabt

Tottenham Hotspur forward Adel Taarabt is having talks with Malaga. Fernando Sanz, president of the Spanish club, confirmed they are close to agreeing a deal with the Morocco international. He said: 'We are talking with him but until the deal is signed, I would prefer not to give any advance information. There is a good chance we can bring him here.' Taarabt joined Spurs from Lens in 2007 but struggled to establishhimself at White Hart Lane, making only 15 first-team appearances. He went to QPR on loan last season but his spell at Loftus Road was cut short by injury.
