Lennon set for Tottenham return

Tottenham and England have been boosted by the news that Aaron Lennon will return from his four-month injury absence against Manchester United.

Lennon, 23, will be on the bench for the trip to Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime after recovering from the groin injury which has kept him out of action since December.

The winger's long-running fitness problems had threatened his place in England's World Cup squad.

Lennon had scored three goals and set up nine more for his team-mates in 18 league appearances before he was struck down by injury at the turn of the year.

"He trained fully with us this week for the first time since the injury and it's going well," revealed Redknapp.

"He should be on the bench at least and it's great to have Aaron around again, not only for Tottenham but for England, too. It's good news."

Lennon has won 15 caps for England and his return is a welcome boost for club and country with Spurs looking to finish the season strongly in order to secure fourth place in the Premier League and the final Champions League qualifying spot.
