Lennon progressing well
05 Oct 2006 - 08:44:36
England winger Aaron Lennon could return to action when Tottenham take on MK Dons in the Carling Cup on October 25.
The 19-year-old is currently working his way back to fitness after a cartilage operation and has not played since England's 1-0 win in FYR Macedonia on September 6.
His recovery is progressing swiftly and he should be back a week sooner than initially anticipated.
Lennon could be joined in the team for the trip to the League Two Dons by Steed Malbranque.
The Frenchman is still to make his Spurs debut having undergone hernia surgery shortly after his deadline day move from Fulham.
Malbranque has now resumed training and although he will not be considered for selection for the Premiership matches against Aston Villa and West Ham or the UEFA Cup clash with Besiktas, he is expected to be ready for first-team action before the end of the month.
Tottenham head coach Martin Jol said: "Malbranque is getting fitter. He's started running while Lennon is ahead of schedule."
