Leandro Damiao's agent fails to rule out Tottenham move for his client

The Brazilian striker has been a long-standing target for Spurs, with the north London outfit reported to be weighing up a 36million double swoop for him and Roberto Soldado.

Damiao had been linked with moves to Napoli and Marseille, however the latter deemed him too expensive.

Though he originally placed a premium on playing Champions League football, Damiao's agent said a move to White Hart Lane could still be on the cards. It is thought that key players such as Damiao are key to keeping Gareth Bale's at White Hart Lane - who failed to finish in this season's top four.

When asked on a potential move to White Hart Lane, this is what Damiao's agent had to say; reported by The Mirror.

"If it was just a matter of money, he would have left a long time ago. Leandro Damiao's dream is to play the World Cup.

"If he leaves, it will be to a big club, he is under contract until 2016 and the club gives him every condition for him to achieve that dream.

"Our idea is to always work with big clubs, all players dream of playing in the Champions League. But Tottenham are an important club in London, we can't rule them out."
