King suffers setback
29 Jan 2007 - 09:44:37
Tottenham captain Ledley King has suffered a setback in his attempt to come back from a foot injury and is unlikely to play in Wednesday's Carling Cup semi-final second leg clash with North London rivals Arsenal.
The England international has not played since sustaining a bruised foot on Boxing Day and has suffered complications in his bid to regain full fitness.
"He will go for a scan again," confirmed head coach Martin Jol. "He is still in pain - that is the problem.
"He had a bruised foot - that is normally two weeks.
"The situation is that there is still bruising on his foot - that is a bit strange, because normally it is over in two weeks.
"We hope there is nothing there. Sometimes you're better to break something than have bruising.
"He trained last week and did everything and went back to the medical staff to tell them he still had pain."
