King of Spurs! Ledley could yet make it to the World Cup, says manager Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp believes Ledley King's big-game temperament will win him a place in England's World Cup squad this summer. The Tottenham manager is unsure whether the defender, who has to manage long-term knee problems, will be fit enough to face Portsmouth in Sunday's FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. But his ability to produce great performances after long lay-offs could work in his favour with big League games against Arsenal and Chelsea this week, according to his boss. Up for the battle: King is desperate to feature in the World Cup this summer 'Ledley's desperate to be fit although he will struggle this weekend,' said the Spurs boss. 'But when he played against Chelsea in the 2008 Carling Cup final that was one of his first games of that season and it went to extra-time. It's amazing how he does that. Not kicking a ball and then performing at that level. It's incredible. 'I still think he'll go to the World Cup. If he's fit, I think he'llgo. Fabio Capello asks me how he is. The England coaches love Ledley. He's a fantastic player and I think he's got a good chance.' Another England World Cup prospect, Aaron Lennon, is also a doubt for Tottenham today as he continues his rehabilitation after a groin injury.  England captain-in-waiting Rio: United mean more to me than the World CupPavlyuchenko targets FA Cup glory to complete fairytale renaissance at SpursOn-loan O'Hara tells Tottenham: I'm a big fan, but I still want to see you loseTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC
