King delighted with fitness

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ledley King is hoping to put his catalogue of injury problems behind him and play a full part in the new season.

The 27-year-old England international has seen his last two campaigns destroyed by knee problems, with further foot and hip injuries raising further doubts about King's long-term future in the game.

However, after a rigorous summer of rehabilitation the centre-back is looking forward to getting back on track at White Hart Lane.

King said: "We're going to have to see, but I don't see why I shouldn't be able to play in all the games. The proof will be in the pudding but hopefully I will be fine.

"You never know how it is going to react but hopefully, touch wood, I will be able to do that.

"It's been tough. The toughest part of my career so far, definitely."
