King content with ugly Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur captain Ledley King is content to see his side 'win ugly' in their bid to move away from the Premier League's relegation zone.

Spurs have picked up form since the arrival of new manager Harry Redknapp, but are still only one point above the bottom three and need to maintain their run of success to stay clear of trouble.

King told The Sun: "There is no point in us being bottom of the league and playing pretty football but not getting anything from it.

"When you're down there, three points are always the most important thing.

"I was pleased with the way we dug in and ground it out on Sunday.

"As much as we want to entertain, you have to mix it up at times. But we created enough chances on Sunday to have been able to kill off Blackburn.

"But when that second goal doesn't come, you have to make sure you do enough at the other end. We defended quite well."
