King close to Spurs return
20 Oct 2007 - 09:11:32
Tottenham Hotspur remain confident that Ledley King is on course to return to first-team action by the end of November.
The 27-year-old England international has been dogged by injuries throughout 2007 and has not featured in the first team this season after having a knee operation in the summer.
However, Spurs boss Martin Jol hopes his club captain will be able to return to full training in two weeks.
He said: "He is still making progress and hopefully he will be back with the group in two weeks' time, maybe longer.
"He is naturally fit, so hopefully it would take another two or three weeks from then before he is ready."
King has made only six first-team appearances for Jol's side since Boxing Day 2006.
Meanwhile, young French defender Dorian Dervitte has returned to training after a long lay-off with a serious knee injury and Tomas Pekhart has signed a new contract.
