Jol settles for a point
16 Apr 2007 - 09:43:16
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Martin Jol was content with a point after his side came from behind three times to secure a 3-3 draw at Wigan Athletic.
A Dimitar Berbatov goal and two from Robbie Keane kept Spurs in the hunt for a UEFA Cup spot, following a testing run of five games in two weeks.
The Dutchman said: "It was a hell of a game, which is probably not what you want after four games in ten days.
"We could have made it easier on ourselves, but not today. For the neutral it was probably a terrific game.
"Of course, we wanted to go ahead, but we conceded a goal in the opening minute, which is not what you want.
"They were probably a bit fresher than us after we played on Thursday, but we showed resilience. That is what we have done before.
"We had lost one of our last eight before this and we did not want to lose this one.
"Before the game we would not have settled for a point, but after it you have to, particularly when you concede two goals from set-pieces."
