Jol pleased with Berbatov

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Martin Jol is confident that Dimitar Berbatov will continue the impressive start to his White Hart Lane career in the coming months.

The 25-year-old Bulgaria international has already scored nine goals in 17 appearances for Spurs since his £10.9million arrival from Bayer Leverkusen, but Jol believes there is more to come.

He commented: "If he scores 20 goals we will be happy with him, but he has got nine already and we are delighted.

"Normally, a foreign player takes four, five or six months to settle in and it's not easy for him and other foreign players.

"But I am convinced he will score many more goals now. He is settling in very well and is an example to other players trying to do the same."
