    Jol eyes rapid JJ return

    05 Feb 2007 - 16:53:43

Tottenham head coach Martin Jol is confident that Jermaine Jenas' ankle injury will soon heal.

The former Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest star has been forced to pull out of the England squad for Wednesday's friendly international with Spain, but Jol does not think Jenas will be sidelined for long.

He told Spurs' official website: "As everyone knows, JJ had a little stress fracture in his ankle, so he couldn't play for a couple of months and then he had a very good game when he returned against Southend United in the FA Cup.

"His second game against Arsenal was okay but he had a knock on his ankle and that meant he was out again at the weekend.

"Hopefully he'll be back in the next couple of days because we need his mobility and aggression in there.

"The same applies for Teemu Tainio. He missed the weekend with a throat infection but again, he's improving and hopefully he will be back because he will also give us a bit of grit in there."
