Jol expects JJ absence
15 Nov 2006 - 09:20:56
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Martin Jol expects midfielder Jermaine Jenas to be out for a fortnight due to a calf injury.
The 23-year-old suffered a slight muscle tear in the 3-1 defeat at Reading at the weekend and was forced to withdraw from the England squad for the midweek friendly with Holland as a result.
Jol confirmed: "JJ has a little tear in his calf. I think he will be out for a couple of weeks."
However, better news for Jol came with Finland international Teemu Tainio's return to training this week.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been sidelined since late September after undergoing surgery on a hernia, but is now near a return to full fitness.
He told the club's official website: "I started my training on Tuesday morning with the team, so I am back.
"I've already done ball work and tackling, so I am ready to rejoin the squad."
