Tottenham head coach Martin Jol insists he was right to let Fredi Kanoute leave White Hart Lane just over 18 months ago.
Kanoute moved to Sevilla, who Spurs meet in the last eight of the UEFA Cup this month, and has been a revelation, finding the net 22 times for the La Liga high-flyers this term.
"Fredi is a very talented player - you can learn all the time and he's an example," said Jol.
"It's impossible to get him back because our philosophy is different. We would like to have younger players and develop them.
"He was 29, we had a very good price for him. You only have to look at his record over here with West Ham and Spurs. Before I was here, he scored maybe eight or nine or 10 goals."
Kanoute scored 21 goals in 73 appearances for Spurs following his switch from West Ham United and has found the net 32 times in his two seasons in Spain.
