Jenas ruled out
05 Dec 2006 - 12:39:24
Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas has been ruled out of the Premiership clash against Middlesbrough after picking up an ankle injury in Saturday's 3-0 derby defeat against Arsenal.
The former Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United star came off the substitute's bench at the Emirates Stadium after recovering from a calf problem but sustained another injury in the second half of the loss.
"JJ won't be fit to play," Spurs boss Martin Jol confirmed to the club's official website.
"He took a kick on the ankle at Arsenal, it doesn't look right and that's a shame after he just came back from his calf injury."
Edgar Davids, Mido and Anthony Gardner remain on the sidelines with injury while Hossam Ghaly is suspended.
However, there was some good injury news for Spurs, with Jol adding: "Paul Stalteri will be in the squad, he's trained well and looked fine.
"Edgar Davids has a problem with pressure on his eye again, so he's not in the squad. Mido is out, he's still feeling minor pain in his adductor in his groin and Anthony Gardner is out with his lower back problem."
